Before you rent

Ready for a safe lake day?

Safety is our number one priority! You must have prior adequate boating experience to rent a boat with us. Driving a boat is nothing like driving a car, so educated boating experience is required for every rental in order for everyone to enjoy a fun and safe day out on the water.

Boating experience can be determined by how many years you have been boating, the number of times you have operated a vessel, and what types of vessels you have operated. We may require you to complete a basics-of-boating questionnaire to determine your experience level.

Waivers and paperwork

Driver’s license and/or boater’s license, if applicable
Waiver that acts as a release of liability
Boat Rental Agreement with basic contact information
Boating Safety Form confirming that you understand how to operate a boat and follow the rules of the waterway

Cancellation charges

7 days: no charge
Within 48 hours: 50% charge
No-shows or cancellations within 24 hours: full rental rate

Bad weather

Weather in the Carolinas is very unpredictable. Boat Rentals of Lake Wylie will decide if the fleet will go out on the morning of the reservation date. If boats cannot go out due to severe weather such as strong wind, heavy rain, thunderstorms, or lightning, we will reschedule you for another date based on availability. If we cannot find a date that works, we can issue a full refund.

Cloudy skies or scattered showers are not considered severe weather.

Payments

Our rental rate is a flat, all-inclusive rate. We collect a 50% deposit at the time of booking. The remainder is due at the time of your rental.

We currently accept Visa, Mastercard, and cash onsite. For digital transactions, we accept Venmo and Zelle.

Children under the age of 13 are required to wear a life jacket at all times.

At the time of booking, please advise if you will need child-size life jackets and provide the size for each child.

Available child life-jacket sizes: under 30 pounds, 30 to 50 pounds, and 50 to 90 pounds.

Pontoon capacity

Pontoon capacity is dependent on total weight. The maximum is 8 to 10 people. Please be mindful of the added weight of coolers, bags, and other belongings, as this can reduce the number of people allowed.
